Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered youth often experience prejudice and discrimination. A variety of LGBT organizations have been established to help LGBT youth and adult cope with the adversity and complications that they may face. There are many different LGBT organizations, operating in locations throughout the country.

The International Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Youth Student Organization is an international organization comprised of young individuals who seek to improve promote human rights and improve conditions for LGBT youth, through education. Other LGBT organizations include the National Youth Advocacy Coalition and the LGBT Youth Line. In addition, most major cities and many municipalities maintain LGBT youth programs, such as the Boston Alliance of Gay and Lesbian Youth and the Houston Area Teen Coalition of Homosexuals.
